A Minor Improvement For Major Movements!

What’s one small improvement you can make in your life?
Resist Stalling
Daily Prompts hit the nail on the head with this question. Personally, the first thing that came to mind was “overcome procrastination”!

Inwardly we negotiate.“Just a little longer” to cruise, wait, or snooze—-driven by a feeling, we choose not to shake!
“I Don’t Feel Like It”
This statement is undeniably the arch enemy of all human progress — especially when it comes to sacrificing what we feel in “the moment” to do what’s best for ourselves long term.
The words “I don’t feel like it” floats from our minds, and slips through our lips, while the heavy energy prior thoughts created hoovers over the simple—- and necessary things. Suddenly, easy tasks are made to “feel”hard.

It’s the reason I sometimes fall asleep in makeup or half do my skincare routine—knowing good-and-well, for my skin— that’s a self sabotaging sin! A choice I’ll later pay for when it’s time to treat an avoidable breakout!
It’s why some of us wait until the last minute to deal with the “hard thing”— or have the “uncomfortable conversation” we should’ve had long before whatever “the issue” is became insufferable.
“I dont feel like it” is the phrase we regret months later after standing “ten toes down” on prioritizing non priorities. Soon, we realize how much time passed —and nothing we imagined, planned or desired was accomplished.
“I don’t feel like it” is sometimes code for subconscious ways we learned to mistreat ourselves or intentionally avoid things we may be scared to face— or do the work to change!
Just Do It NOW!

Oh, don’t be deceived by the fleeting pleasure of “I’ll do it later”. It’s really not worth the “five more minutes”.

Sure, there are times when saying “I don’t feel like it” is perfectly normal and it benefits our wellbeing. It’s ok when we’re honoring healthy boundaries and it’s profitable for us in the long run. While this is true, those of us that struggle with procrastination must keep our eyes peeled! We can’t let our feelings trick us into losing the game! Look at everything objectively, and weigh the pros and cons.
Thoughts & Feelings:
How “I Don’t Feel Like It” Works Against Us!

Before the words and the feeling came, there was a thought or idea that lingered a little too long. Nine times out of ten, it was negative. With every second came reasonings and a new scenario our heads made up to deflate all motivation. Resistance kicks in to affirm “the thing” our minds convinced us to avoid. Suddenly, How we feel becomes stronger than the the real prize or plan.
Then…
We believe the story we told ourselves. We begin to anticipate grief and physically experience the weight of something we imagined. Here’s the kicker—- it may not even be true. How do we know it’s not true? I have a list for us:
1. The moment we choose to physically get up or perform the action we’ve avoided, it becomes evident that it wasn’t hard at all.
2. We discover that didn’t take as long as we projected, and it didn’t take as much energy as we thought.
3. We actually feel good and accomplished after completing it and reap the benefits of our choice.
4. We realize the story, scenario, or perspective we imagined was a lie.
Overcoming Delaying Tactics

How?
“5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.”
—2 Corinthians 10:5
The term “casting down” in 2 Corinthians 10:5 is the Greek word “kathaireó”. It means to take down, to destroy, to demolish, to dethrone”. It means, “I take down, pull down, depose, destroy” the “imaginations (logismos)”—“thought, reasoning, argument”, and “speculation”— “that exalts itself above the knowledge of God.”

Logismos “emphasizes reaching a personal opinion”. As many know, an opinion is “a view or judgment formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge.” That sounds a bit scary to place the future in— even if its 5 minutes from now!

The Holy Spirit helps us defend ourselves against the thoughts and imaginations that work against our good! We have the power to dethrone all usurping ideas, beliefs and opinions that challenge God’s good will for us to succeed! God, who said, “I know the plans I have for you, to prosper you and not to harm you— to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11-13).
God can reveal holy knowledge and wisdom to us. Pray, ask and seek. The Word of God can renew our minds and strength, to obtain every good thing!
Stay prayed up— but more importantly, BUST A MOVE!

Just Do It!
- Its not hard. It won’t take that long, and its worth the commitment!
- Forgive yourself. Don’t judge yourself. Pray for deliverance. Ask God to renew your mind and strength. Remember, God’s strength is made perfect in our weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:8-10).
- Face fears, and resist delaying yourself. Even small things, in the right direction brings us one step closer to our goals.
- Set goals and crush ‘em! Do a little everyday.
