How are you feeling right now?

When I saw this prompt, I paused, tilted my head to the side and said, “hmm, how am I feeling right now”? The cue helped me notice that the day was well spent in autopilot before checking in with my soul. Immediately, Holy Spirit lead me to define the words “how”andfeeling”. Oxford Languages definitions shared that “how” is “used to ask about the condition or quality of something”. “Feeling” is an “emotional state or reaction”.

ASSESSMENT

Rewording the question by definition hit home. I asked myself, “regarding the condition and quality of your emotional state or reaction to this present moment, what’s your status”? I was a pinch startled. I rated an authentic description of my reality; mentally, physically and emotionally. To be transparent, I wasn’t pleased with the score card. It revealed that that my time, attention and energy were being spent on the wrong things. The tiny self assessment concluded that what I chose did not help, replenish, nor improve the “condition and quality” of life’s experience. What’s beautiful is that anything can be changed the very second we decide.

More questions flowed in sequence as I evaluated reasons for my disposition at the time.

  • Did you pick up an unnecessary task or burden you weren’t supposed to carry?
  • Did you participate in a battle or conflict that is not your fight?
  • Are you getting in the way of someone’s lesson? Did you learn your’s?
  • Do you know what right FOR YOU right now?

Since I was inspired to share, it’s my prayer that this reminder helps someone else to touch base with themselves. May we have courage to press forward. Make room to experience joy and peace today. Treat yourself to something nice. Be kind to yourself however, that looks for you.

CHECK IN

Do your best to release stress and strife. A little tweak in priorities can brighten your light. 😉

1. Schedule time every day to love yourself. Let God fill your cup. God loves you.

2. Before you say “yes” to anything, ask yourself these three questions:

“How are you feeling?”

“Do you have the mental, emotional and physical capacity, time or resources to say yes to ______?”

“Is this right for YOU right now?”

3. Trust God to show up for you and those you love. Pray and release what belongs to God.

4. Get comfortable saying no and good bye to unnecessary stress.

5. Choose how you want to spend your daily 24 hours. Time is a fleeting gift we can’t get back.

6. Take the cape off! Give yourself grace. You may not have extra to offer some days and that’s ok. Again, take the cape off!

7. Cease the day, keep the faith, be patient and kind. “Rejoice in hope”.

8. Don’t worry. Don’t fear. Seek the True Light .
