“Pressing through toward something new”.

OH, HEAVINESS TRIED IT!
After concluding a fast, an ambush from “the spirit of heaviness” challenged most of the first day off. Depression and anxiety introduced certain perceptions after specific thoughts. Unpleasant sensations lingered after pondering on them a few seconds too long. At first, I was genuinely confused. I assumed the fight was over!
The Holy Spirit reminded me that deliverance is continual work, maintained by remaining awake; leaving no doors open for negative energy to enter or fester. The mentally exhausting day consisted of catching persistent intrusive thoughts and casting them down. I see why we are told to be watchful and alert when it comes to the mind and soul. The frustration was overwhelming and unexpected.
PRAYER, PROMISES & OPTIONS
After prayer came relief. I sensed to press record and speak from the heart. The video above was an act of faith in opposition to fear. It manipulated emotions to visit. I asked for the Holy Spirit’s help, encouragement and direction on what to share with fellow depression survivors. I’m learning that whatever we suppress, depresses the soul. I heard popular lyrics in my spirit. “Free your mind and the rest will follow”.
I’m grateful that heaviness no longer has the power it once had. Let’s continue in faith and “call things that are not as though they were”. There’s power in the name of Jesus. Believe God. Don’t give up. Keep fighting in faith. God is with us. I was teetering on the edge but God was my rescue. May His love extend the same to you.
