“Divine Intervention Seizes Tension”

The morning started a tad behind schedule. Final touches of makeup ensued on a bench in the sun. As I blended and blotted, I prayed for the well being of those God laid on my heart. While anticipating scenarios on the road ahead, my heart began feeling heavy.
Bracing myself for the unknown caused my mind to drift. A few seconds later, a woman sat next to me on the bench playing music. The lyrics brought intrusive thoughts to a screeching halt.

MIRACLES IN MELODY
I laughed and thanked God for His impeccable timing. The song obviously has a different context yet, the Holy Spirit used the words to reiterate to me that “with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26). Immediately following the chorus, a portion of Hebrews 11:6 came to mind. “He who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him”. After all, Jesus did say, “be it unto you as YOU BELIEVE”. Staring at the first three words in the lyrics led me to seek the definition of “miracle”.

Merriam Webster notes the first meaning as “an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs”. Many of us are believing God for something unusual. Many of us are praying with hope and expectation for real things to improve in real life. Many of us are interceding for ourselves, loved ones and the world at large. What comes to mind now are the words of Jesus saying “Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Believe in God, believe also in me” (John 14:1).
THE LESSON
God can speak through anything at any time. On a bench in sun with the Son, God chose to remind me again that there are no limitations in Him. God made us all with a clear objective (Genesis 1:27-31). The Holy Spirit is present and consistently emphasizes who God is when we start trippin’ (John 14:26-31). The Holy Spirit interrupted the temptation of unbelief with facts. With mindful melody, our Comforter gently amended meditations; reinforcing God’s ability, intention and capacity.
Relying on human vision, knowledge or understanding apart from God yields strenuous routes, heavy burdens and unnecessary confusion. God’s vision and thoughts are always higher (Isaiah 55:8-9). God uses the things humanity misses or deems foolish for His glory (1 Corinthians 1:27-29) . God sees and knows everything. God’s way is always right (Psalm 18:30) and it doesn’t have to “makes sense”to us. I’m learning that anytime peace, hope or faith seem to be slipping away, it’s better to “let go and let God”.
Many times what we need is right in front of us. May God grace us with “eyes to see and ears to hear”. When thoughts of lack tempt us to believe feelings instead of faith, may we remember the “five smooth stones”, the songs of worship to God in battle, one who dipped in a river for healing, the one who was healed with clay on blinded eyes, the one healed by spoken word from afar. May we remember the endless oil that poured for the widow, and much more. May we remember God showing up for us as a present help in time of need. God is faithful and will never leave us hanging (Romans 4:20-21).
